Model Formulation & Parameters / DEM Input
February 23, 2012, 10:46:30 AM
Is there any preference or difference in results with using a DEM (with water) versus a hydroflattened (all water values set at zero)?  In particular, if tidal channels are removed from the Lidar will this effect the habitat switching?
Thanks!

How does SLAMM handle elevations outside of the default range? For example, regularly flooded salt marsh less than 0 m and/or greater than 1.2 HTU?

For scenarios of older NWI data and more recent Lidar... for example, 1983 NWI and 2002 Lidar -- one can assume that the Lidar reflects the most accurate conditions. Is there anyway to trick SLAMM into updating the vegetation class? Or would this be too arbitrary given that some vegetation class elevation ranges overlap.

Is the elevation output the minimum elevation or true elevation referenced to MTL?

Using SLAMM / Memory Error and I/O Error
August 30, 2011, 07:03:27 AM
I am having 'out of memory' errors when I set the map attributes on both my XP 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit—currently with a small run setup (6.0.1). I also receive an I/O error after the program has been writing the GIS output to ~80%. I have checked the following,

-   0.86 GB memory
-   12 Ma cells
-   Not tracking High Elevations & Open Water
-   Execute: Custom 0.7 m by 2100, no soil saturation, no maps displayed, only running model for 2075
-   No other programs running
-   Tried running it locally and on external hard drive
-   Increased Virtual Memory

I have seen previous posts noting similar problems-- has there been any resolution for this? I have completed two runs on my XP that were larger than the size reported above.

Thanks,
susan

All past recordings have been transferred to another site (I contacted NatureServe when trying to access the above link). Fwd email with new link below.

The recordings have all been transferred over to another site, so the new link is:
https://tranxfer.natureserve.org/download/longterm/ebm%20tools/SLAMM%20and%20SLAMM-View%20Webinar%2023Feb10/

In some browsers, you can play the file directly from this location.  But with others, you need to right-click download it to play it on your computer.
