DEM/3d tool issue

Hi,

Just after a bit of guidance.
It appeared as though everything was running smoothly with my model, until I used the 3D graph tool. Upon doing so the sea level toggle tool showed that MSL didn't align with the water coverage in my NWI input.

Could this be an issue with my DEM, perhaps it is not accurate enough?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

Julian

Hi Julian,

The misalignment could be due to:

- A systematic horizontal shift between your DEM and wetland layers
- An inaccurate MTL to NAVD88 correction
- The common occurrence of tidal flats and some low-lying marshes falling below MTL based on the SLAMM conceptual model default elevations. You can check this in the Elevation Statistics window

Investigate these possible sources of error and re-post to this thread with any follow-up questions.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Amy

Hi Amy,

Thanks for the feedback. It turned out to be an issue with the DEM.
I have found a DEM with higher resolution and this has proved to be the best solution.

Thanks,

Julian.
