Model Formulation & Parameters / General questions
April 22, 2014, 11:36:49 AM
1. We are curious about salinity in the model when the salinity model is not used.  We are seeing salt marshes in all of our output files. We would like to restrict salt outputs to the areas where they would realistically occur.  Is it possible to restrict salt outputs to certain extents?

3)  We noticed a lot of irregularly flooded marsh in our output, some of which didn't make sense to us.  There are many examples of tidal swamp or tidal fresh marsh becoming irregularly flooded marsh.  This might be related to salinity above, but we would like to better understand the model behavior that causes this particular transition.

Hi- Could you tell me the SLAMM definitions for these land types: Reg. Flooded marsh,
Irreg. Flooded Marsh and Tidal Fresh Marsh

I was wondering how saturation is calculated in the model. Additionally, if a DEM with MTL as it's datum is being used (and MTL is already set to 0), do you still need to plug in GT and historic trend? MTL-NAVD88 would be set at 0, correct?

Thanks Marco. I was also wondering how saturation is calculated in SLAMM?
Thanks again!

Model Formulation & Parameters / Aspect

Is Aspect used by the SLAMM model? If so, how?

yup, all overwash parameters are set to 0. i tried running with accr. values and all accr. values set to 0. same results
protection scenario is set to don't protect.

thanks Jonathan!
It seems like the same thing except the use soil saturation box is unchecked on all my runs. could it be due to something else?

Hi!
Some of our GIS outputs contain linear relics/inconsistencies. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Thanks!

Using SLAMM / output of gis files
February 15, 2013, 11:00:24 AM
Hi!
For some reason, Slamm has stopped producing tabular and raster outputs. Does this mean the model isn't running correctly or that one of my inputs is off? The model does tell me that it has completed successfully.
Thanks! Magdeline

Using SLAMM / year 2100
February 11, 2013, 01:37:21 PM
HI!
Our Projected Sea Level rise data only goes to 2080. How can we change the program so that the end point is 2080 and not 2100?

Additionally, how many cells are taken into account when SLR is calculated for a cell?

Thanks! Magdeline

Hi Jonathan,

I was wondering if you could give me some background on how the default accretion rate parameters are set up (or arrived at).

Thanks! Magdeline

Using SLAMM / dry land
February 05, 2013, 03:08:10 PM
I have a few questions about dry land:

1. Why is it important to code dry land instead of leaving dry land as blank cells.
2. does the lack of dry land effect the final SLAMM output.
3. How do I add dry land using the SLAMM interface.

Thanks!
